Welcome Baby Abby!!!

Our newest niece was born on April 29th, 2009 to my brother, Jared and his wife, Missy.
Her name is Abigail Elaine Blackman...we all call her Abby!
Her siblings include Kenna-8, Luke-6, Matthew-3, Maya-(w/ the Lord), Nathan-2, and Jacob-1.
She had a rough start, but is doing better. She could use your prayers for strong lungs and a fast recovery...her mommy still hasn't got to hold her yet! To keep updated on Abby, go here.

A picture of baby Abby I stole from her mommy's blog!

Now since baby Abby is here, and I was able to give Missy her diaper bag...I can now share my latest sewing creation with you!

The jean pockets turned out awesome (after 5 hours of ripping out thread), I love how the details turned out!

Trip Home to Nebraska Part 1:

More pictures from Emma and I's trip to Nebraska...

Emma and I saying 'bye bye' to daddy for a week.
(he doesn't look very happy about it, does he?)

Emma and her Nana

Emma playing the piano for the very first time!

She loved it!

Monday we went to Ogallala to see Gramma Cena, Grandpa Bud and Dorothy. Emma and I hung out at Gramma's, while my mom went to her church to do the weekly deposits. Oh, and we got yummy donuts! (no place makes glazed donuts like Daylight Donuts in Ogallala)

Emma and Dorothy.
Emma got a real kick out of Dorothy!
Grandpa Bud

Tuesday we went back to town to have lunch (its a weekly ritual for fam and friends there)
In attendance were Me, Emma, Nana, Gramma Cena, Grandpa Bud, Kris, Aunt Becky, and Tanner..and I got to pick the place...the Sandwich Shoppe, where I enjoyed a TBA sandwich.

Weekend In Lincoln

We spent the weekend of April 17th-19th in Lincoln. My mom met us there, then Emma and I went home with her for a week.

Here are a few pics of Emma on our way to Lincoln. She never uses anything in the conventional way...including her pacifier.

She is holding the pacifier upside down, and chewed on it.

Drool was dripping out of the hole on the pacifier.

Bella found her a nice, comfy spot, on top of a mountain of pillowcases.

At the hotel, we took Emma swimming for the first time!

She LOVED it!
She kicked and kicked!

My cousin Tracy and her daughter, Taya, came over to see us for a little while.

The girls more interested in our water bottles than their toys!

Emma got to see all her aunts and uncles and cousins on her daddy's side that weekend, and her grandma and grandpa Struckman came to Lincoln too since it had rained and they were able to get away from the farm for a few days.

A few pics before our trip...

Yes, we are home now! And trying to recuperate! I took roughly 300 pictures during our trip, so you can imagine its gonna take a while to sort thru and get some posted. But to start off, here are a few pics from the week before we left.

I fed Emma, then laid her on the floor to fix Shane and I's supper, and came back to find this...she had rolled to her sippy cup, picked it up and was drinking from it. Needless to say there was juice spilled all over around her! I don't have the spill proof attachment on the bottom of the lid b/c Emma hasn't figured out how to suck on it to get the juice out.

Where Emma fell asleep while I was loading the car the Thursday night before we left.

Don't worry, lots more pics to come...
