Some pics before I go to bed...

Here are few pictures I just took of Emma!
She was beginning to get fussy b/c she was hungry and began to eat her hands!
We are doing well...we made our first trip to Wal-Mart by ourselves today! Emma slept thru the whole thing...what a sweet angel! She really is such a good baby and spoils her mommy!
We also took Bella to get her haircut!
Well, enjoy the pictures!

Emma wore one of her Husker onesies yesterday (courtesy of Aunt Lindsey and Uncle Jared).
Its still big on her, but I am sure she will grow into it fast!

TGIF...

Friday has arrived! I am sure my husband is happy its the weekend too! Right now, Miss Emma is napping in my lap, so I thought I would take advantage and get some pictures posted!
This week went fairly well. I made it out twice on my own...once to take Emma to the doctor and once to take me to the doctor.
I also got a photo book done for Emma and ordered as well as a 16X20 collage with her name, DOB, weight and length to hang in her room.
This weekend we will try and relax...Shane has been really busy at work, so he is in need of some relaxing. Obviously, we will be listening to the Husker game on Saturday and Shane also picked up the movie 'Leatherheads' to watch.
Emma is growing faster than her mommy wants! Her little legs, arms and cheeks are getting chubby! She weighed 8 lbs 2 oz at her doctor's appointment on Monday!

Below are some pics from the week!
Enjoy!

Emma's first Husker outfit! Isn't it adorable!
Shane's co-worker, Melissa, stopped by on Wednesday evening to meet Emma and brought her this! She had to have gone out of her way to get this...you don't find red and white here in Iowa! It was really sweet of her! And I can't wait for Emma to wear it!

Yesterday, the mail man came bringing me two packages. It was kinda funny...one was a coffee maker box and the other an iced tea maker box! Anyway, one was a really cute silver piggy bank from my parents for Emma! I had told my mom about it, it was at the Tanger Outlet mall, and I wanted to get back there soon to pick it up for Emma...turns out they stopped on the way home to Nebraska and bought it for Emma! I will try and post a picture of it once I put it in her room!
The other package was from Shane's sisters, Janice and Lindsey! Shane was very happy to see 2 Husker onesies in there for Emma to wear! And there were lots of other goodies!

In these pictures I am trying to catch Emma's smile!

Monday...

We had a pretty good weekend. We didn't do a whole lot. We did get out of the house and go for a walk and made it to the grocery store! Overall, I just tried to rest and take advantage of having Shane around to help me.

Last night, Emma and I didn't get much sleep. And I have been battling headaches, so lack of sleep doesn't help them and is probably more the cause of them...and sleeping in the recliner.

I took Emma to the pediatricians today because I have been suspecting that she may have been developing thrush, and the doctor confirmed my suspicion. So I have Emma on an antibiotic now that I have to swab in her mouth. Other than the thrush, my doctor told me I have a perfect baby! And a very cute one too! I told her that I totally agree!!! Below are some pics from the past few days!

Emma back from our walk!

Emma in another new color...green!

Emma looks like she is waving in this picture!

We put Emma in her swing for the first time, she seems to like it, but looks rather small in it!

A Cute Pic for the Day...

Emma was pushing her ear out with her finger while she was sleeping!
She is such a sweetie!

Today I made it thru my first day all alone...Shane had training at work and couldn't make it home for lunch. I was definitely ready to see him when he walked thru the door. Emma was a very good baby today...its just really hard to be by myself for some reason.

I was so thankful that Shane had taken a half a day off on Wednesday to be with me when my parents left, and it helps when he comes home for lunch to break the day up, for both of us. We look forward to this weekend and not having to do anything.

A Very HARD Goodbye...

Monday morning my dad arrived. Here are a few pictures of him meeting his baby daughter's baby! Dad thinks she looks like me when I was a baby!

Beautiful Emma

On Tuesday, my mom and dad, Emma and I went to the Coralridge Mall to do some shopping. I still am not feeling the best, so we pretty much only hit Target to stock up on wipes and nursing pads and a few other things, and went to Motherhood to find me some nursing clothing. I have been wearing pretty much the same outfit since I didn't buy much before Emma was born.
Emma was very good on her first shopping trip and of course, she was fun to push in the stroller!

Then came the dreaded Wednesday morning, where I had to say goodbye to my mom. It was the hardest goodbye we have ever had to do! I hate the word 'goodbye', I would rather say 'see you soon' or something like that.
I am so thankful for ALL my mom's help and time she gave us! Words cannot express how much I appreciated her being here! She was able to stay with us for 2 1/2 weeks! I already miss her terribly and am ready for her to come back!
Below are some pictures before my mom and dad headed back to Nebraska.

*I thought it was kinda neat that Emma was born on 9/3 and she is my parents 9th grandchild and Shane's parents 3rd grandchild*
