They have Finally Arrived!!!

Wanna guess what has finally arrived? White Nectarines! Yeah! They are by far my most favorite fruit! And after HyVee telling me 'should be in next week' the last few times I have gone to the store...they were finally in on Sunday when we went! It cost me $7.98 for just 8 thou...pretty pricey right now, but hey, its fruit...can't put a price on something that is good for you...right? (don't you find it ironic that its cheaper to eat crap food than healthy food?)

Anyway, we enjoyed our 3 day weekend...Shane may see it differently considering I was goal oriented on marking things off our to-do list! Top priority was removing the old window A/C in our dining room that was put in by the old owners in such a way as to NEVER come out! We have had removing it on our list for over a year since we got central air (thanks again Dad!) After much prayer, we tackled it on Saturday morning. The old owners cut the outside storm window frame, so we knew we needed to replace it, and praise God, there was an old storm window that fit downstairs from when the house would have had the addition put on it years ago. We got it put in, caulked and painted the window frame and trim. It sure lets alot more light in with the A/C being gone, plus looks better outside.

Other projects we tackled were major cleaning in kitchen, replanting our tomato plants, 2 trips of taking stuff to be recycled, and cleaning the basement and prepping it to keep working on the shurewalling (or whatever you call it). I also did some touch up painting I have been needing to do, cleaned out Emma's closet and moved her everyday clothes upstairs to her room (I have been keeping them in our office where we change her down stairs).

Our next two major projects our finishing up in the basement and setting up shelving for storage down there and siding the garage, which we are now considering painting the house, so need to decide that before we do garage. I am also 'contemplating' a kitchen re-do...and I think I have finally gotten Shane on board. I really hate the 'orange color' of the wood of my cabinets...so I am thinking of painting them, possibly retiling the kitchen countertops (we tiled them when we first moved in, it was our first time ever tiling), adding hardware, and having Shane build me a custom cabinet/hutch to go on one of the walls!

Overall, we were pretty productive this weekend, but also had some down time. We rented 'Paul Blart Mall Cop'...we both like Kevin James, it was pretty funny and stupid.

Below are some pics from the last week:

First off, a 'very' unwelcome visitor on my back porch. Shane noticed this nest.

We knew it had to be a hornets nest, which we have never seen one around our house before. Turns out it is a bald faced hornet. Here is the queen, she was in the process of making her nest and laying eggs, but was sadly mistaken thinking she could start her colony out my back door! Wrong...one big squirt of Raid took care of that!

Now on to the whole reason anyone checks my blog:

Emma eating a 'Baby Mum, Mum'...which she loves. My friend Lynette shared some with us at her house. It has really helped in Emma learning to feed herself.

This was taken the afternoon after our playdate last week...Emma was wore out!

Emma can wear her hair in one ponytail!

This is where Emma sits to watch for Daddy to come home at lunch time.

She loves to watch out the window (just like Bella! Ha!)

Being silly!

Messy hair

Doesn't Emma look like her Daddy?

Emma has really grown up in the last week. She loves to clap, follows me everywhere, can put food in her mouth, sucks out of a sippy cup (before I had to just pour the liquid in her mouth). She just has a silly personality. And she still loves to scream!

Well, I better get back to working on Codi's wedding flowers. I am almost done with her bouquet! Which I was most worried about, so I decided to tackle it first. She wants a cascading bouquet, which I have never done, so it was a creative challenge. I also completed the diaper bag and accessories I had been working on...it turned out beautifully...can't show you pictures yet thou, someone purchased it as a gift for someone for a baby shower (and even thou they don't check my blog, I still wouldn't want to spoil it), but I will post pics once that is over.

Have a good week!

Emma's First Playdate!!!

Today, Emma had her very first playdate. We went to Alaina (2 1/2 years old) and Emmy's (11 months old) house in Wapello. They had lots of fun toys to play with, so of course Emma had a blast. And I enjoyed myself too, Lynette and I have lots in common, and it was so great getting to know her! We hope to have more playdates in the future!

Aren't Lynette's girls just beautiful?

Weekend...

We had a good weekend. We finally were able to put the garden in...so grow, grow, grow! I am so ready for fresh tomatoes!
We hit a few garage sales...Shane wanted to go to one that was advertising a weed eater, but we got there a few minutes late and saw another guy walk out with it! However, I did find a few pairs of jeans (I am needing to restock my jean supplies for my diaper bags, and I stick to name brand, cute denim, with neat pocket detail, so it takes a lot of hunting to find some), a fisher price plastic outdoor swing for Emma (only $2.00 and its the shape of a dolphin!), some really nice clothes for Emma. I also scored a nice keyboard for only $20...I love playing the pian0 (I'm way out of practice though)!
Here are a few pictures from this weekend.

I put the powder on the floor to change Emma's diaper...but she decided her face needed some as well!

Sunday Outfit....no, not your typical "Sunday dress wear", but we don't do typical around here!

I haven't seen this look before!

Emma is crying in this photo and she really does like her new pink ball...she was just afraid mommy left her, but I had to get up to get the camera!
Bella also likes Emma's pink ball and tries to put it in her mouth. I have a feeling the ball may not last long!

Just some fun ones..

Emma and I braved the downpour on Friday and went to the grocery store, on the way home she fell asleep and slept for over 3 hours! Since it was so gloomy out, I curled up on the couch and played awhile in photoshop...something I haven't got to do since I made Emma's birth announcements...here are a few pics I played with.

Just a few pics...

Here are a few pictures from this week...

Emma in one of mommy's do-rags...what a cutie!

...and a lil' goofy too!

I was sewing and look over to find Emma inside her toy bin, she was pretty much all balled up in it until she heard me walk into the room to grab the camera!

Every night before I go to bed I pick Emma's toys up and line them up together...it doesn't take long for her to recreate the mess again in the mornings, plus maneuver the play mat over her! She thinks she has to be under everything...as soon as we recline the couch or chair, she crawls under it to inspect it and peel off any stickers or tags!

Emma's take on Crawling...

Emma has been 'army' crawling for several weeks now, and all the moms I have talked to said that their kids that did the 'army' crawl, never regular crawled until after they walked...so I figure that will be our case. Either way, she is super cute when she does it and super fast!

Some Emma Delight...

Found my card reader! It was hiding under a toy bin!
We had a good day...Emma and I went to 'O Baby Lapsit' at the library, did some laundry, started sewing on a diaper bag, and took a nice afternoon nap together...ahh, gotta love those!
Shane rototilled up the garden when he came home from work, its finally dry enough to plant, so we hope to get the plants in the ground tomorrow night! He also started jogging! Emma has been fussy all day, I think she may be getting another tooth. But she screams and screams...she does it for fun and when she is mad...needless to say my ears were ringing by the time I put her to bed! Which I tried to put off as long as I could b/c she was up at 4:20am this morning!
Anyway, here are some pictures from yesterday...

This is a new outfit we bought on Friday...I love the skirt!

Happy Face

Silly Face

Cute Face

Emma tries to crawl into every small space! Its quite humorous to see her get into these tight spaces! She is also wearing her new cute capris!

The vinyl sign I ordered for Emma's room.

The vinyl sign and picture frame for our bedroom. The sign says "Holding You, I hold everything"
I think I will switch out a few of the pictures for fabric pieces that match our custom headboard to add some color to the wall...as soon as I find the left over fabric...I just saw it the other day while I was looking for something in my storage closet, but of course when I go looking specifically for it, I can't find it!

We also hung another picture over the headboard.

A Very Blessed Mother's Day!

I had a very blessed Mother's Day. We went to church, then ate Las Lomas.
Shane's gift to me was 'him'...all day, and to help me do what ever I wanted! So he helped me hang some pictures and vinyl signs, he also cleaned out my flower boxes for me, then we went and bought some red gerbera daisies for them and planted them. We also got a slushy and went to the park. Emma got to see some ducks and swing! It was just a really great 'family day'!

Emma's gift was letting her mommy sleep until the sun came up! She has been getting up at 5am, and even got up at 4:30am yesterday morning! But this morning, I woke up and it was 6:30am, rolled over and looked at Emma, and she was smiling up at me!

Here are some pictures from yesterday. I took some today, but can't find the card reader, so they will have to wait! Shane took these adorable pictures of Emma playing with his hat!

My FAV!

And below are Emma and her VERY blessed mommy!

Happy Mother's Day too all you mothers that I know and love! Especially to my mom, who has taught me so much about being a mom, and always showing me God's love!

I feel sooo blessed to have an incredible daughter to call me mom! I never knew I could love someone so much, or see my heart literally beat outside my body! Emma is pure joy! And to think that we have a God and Savior that loves us so much more than that!!!

I will post the pictures from today as soon as I find that darn card reader...if I didn't know better, I'd say it grew legs and walked away. I will also take some pics of the pictures and vinyl signs we hung today. Until then, goodnight!
