Lindsey & Jared's Wedding Flowers - A work in progress...

I thought I would post some pictures of Lindsey & Jared's wedding flowers I am working on, that way Sharon and Janice can see the look Lindsey is going for. I think they are gonna turn out really cute when they are done. I was so afraid I wouldn't be able to find something Lindsey would like. But shopping for and putting the flowers together went amazingly great...I think Lindsey would agree...it was a relief! I prayed about it a lot the week before they came out here! I feel blessed that she is giving me the opportunity to do them for her!

Here are some pictures of the bridesmaids' bouquets. I do not have a finished one yet, cuz we ran out of gerbera daisies. The bouquets are made up of 10 red gerbera daisies and 5 red roses. There will be black ribbon to fill in underneath and to wrap the stems in. Hopefully, you can get an idea.

Old Pictures to spark some happy times!

Here are some pics to bring back some memories! I thought some were pretty funny...especially to see how we have all changed!
When my cousin, Tracy was here the other weekend, we had reminisced about all the fun times camping at the lake and the good food! I found this picture of us in our old camper...where we had many good times and played a lot of cards! Starting from the right is Tracy, my sister Britni in yellow, me in red, my Aunt T (Tracy's mom), my Aunt Becky, w/ my cousin Ashton leaning on her lap! Common Theme here is: bushy eyebrows!

My cousins, Ashton & Tracy, and me
(I think this was taken the day after my HS graduation)

Me (in braces, I must have been 13-14 in this picture), my brother Jared (18), and my sister Britni (16)
This was taken in Jared's apartment while we were visiting him in college in KC.

Camping at the lake. This picture is probably 8 years old. It was very earlier in the morning and we aren't quite awake...we were probably waiting for dad to fry us some bacon!

My best friend, Heather is gonna love me for this picture!!! Here we are after a Middle School band parade!
Heather & I
(I think this was taken our senior year, judging by my hair, I think we were headed to North Platte for some fun!)

Me, Sonja, Tonya & Heather Jo
(Heading out to our Junior year Homecoming, I think. Shane was my date!)

Me, Codi & Heather Jo
(Do you guys remember what we were laughing about?)
(Freshman year Sweetheart Dance, yes we all had dates...we didn't buy ourselves corsages!)

Me & Codi
(Halloween Dance Senior Year, if I remember right, we found these little wings & wand sets at the grocery store for a few dollars!)

My mom & Me
(Getting ready to move me down to Lincoln for college)

Me & my niece, Kenna
(We went down to Kansas City to celebrate her 2nd birthday with her)
I had to throw this picture in here...it is of my nephew, Luke when he was a baby (he is now 5 1/2)! It's one of my favorite pictures, he just looks like a cute candy nerd the way he is sitting! And his hair looks styled and you just wanna pinch those chubby cheeks!

16 Week Check-Up...

Shane and I went to our 16 week check-up today. It was pretty routine and quick. I have lost 2 more pounds, and the baby's heartbeat was 159 bpm today! We also scheduled our ultrasound for April 11th, which is when we will find out what the sex of the baby is (if he or she cooperates)! We could have gone a week sooner, but we wanted to wait until my mom and gramma Cena could come out to go with us! I am trying not to think about it alot, so I don't get too excited and can't bear the next 3 weeks!
Right now, my poll of what you think we are having is 18-girl and 7-boy. You have 3 more weeks to vote if you haven't already!
Well, thats all the news for now!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter!!! I pray everyone had a great day and was able to spend it with loved ones! Shane and I stayed in Muscatine this weekend. We spent the day going to church, ate brunch at the Muscatine Family Restaurant, got groceries, made a fast trip to Menards and then came home. Shane spent the rest of the day listening to baseball and watching basketball (yes, he did that at the same time!). And I worked on Britni's diaper bag...its turning out to be really cute, I hope she likes it...she has no idea what I picked out for fabric (she wanted it to be a surprise)! So after I give it to her, I will post pictures of it!

Shane had Friday off, so being the amazing husband he is, he took me shopping and to a movie (we saw "Horton Finds A Who")! Over the last few days, my stomach has seemed to POP! So I was in need of some maternity clothes! I got car sick on the way over, so I had to throw up before we could walk into the mall, but after that, I felt pretty good (until the drive home, when I got car sick again). I did find a pair of jeans and a couple of cute tops! It is definitely weird that I can fit into them! Below are some pictures Shane took of me today after church.I am wearing a pair of my new jeans and a white top I bought at Motherhood. A close up of lil' bean (my belly almost sticks out farther than my boobs!)A candid shot Shane took!

The biggest blessing of the day was I felt the baby move for the first time!!! We were sitting in church, and we had bowed our heads for prayer at the end of the sermon and the band started to play, and I got this fluttering sensation in my tummy...I instantly popped my head up and looked at Shane wide-eyed and told him "I think I just felt the baby move!" It was nothing like I had ever felt before! We then stood up to sing, and the drums were really loud and I kept feeling the fluttering sensation! It was truly amazing, and what a great day and place to remember it on!

Ok, one last thing that I think is somewhat blog worthy...my major pregnancy-brain fart of the week! I came home for lunch from work on Thursday and was getting ready to go back, I checked to make sure the front door was locked and toaster unplugged, frig shut tight, and I checked to make sure the stove was off, even though I did not use it, like 4 times (I know, I know I am borderline OCD) and grabbed my purse and phone and pushed the lock in on the back door, walked out the door and pulled it shut...the instant I shut the door, I knew I didn't have my keys! They were laying on the counter next to where my purse had been! So I not only locked myself out of the house, I also locked myself out of my car!!! So I did the only thing I could...walked to work! Good thing I don't live very far from work and it was at least 45 degrees out! On my walk to work, I called Shane and left him a message that he would need to pick me up from work because I locked myself out! The ironic part of this story is, a few weeks ago Shane and I were talking about needing a spare set of keys to hide in the garage (for this exact situation) and we even had extra sets made, but hadn't hid them in the garage yet! I told myself on Thursday, that I was going to hide the spare set as soon as I got home (here it is Sunday nite, and still haven't done it)!

We go to the doctor's tomorrow for our 16 week check-up, which is when we will schedule our next ultrasound! I will update you on all that tomorrow after my appointment!
Happy Easter! Love you all!!!

10 Things About Me...

I was tagged by... Missy.

Here's how you play. Once you've been tagged you have to write a blog of ten weird, random things, facts or habits about yourself. At the end, you choose five people to be tagged, listing their names and why you chose them to be tagged. Don't forget to leave them a comment "You're it!" and tell them to read your blog. You can't tag the person who tagged you. Since you can't tag that person back, let her know when you've posted your blog so she can read your answers.

1. I love the half popped kernels when you eat popcorn.

2. I like salt & pepper on my popcorn (can you guess what I am eating as I am making this list?!)

3. I really hate knick-knacks, I don't like to clutter my shelves and it is just more to dust!

4. I hate the smell of vanilla (vanilla lotion, vanilla candles, etc.)

5. This isn't really news to some of you, but I love to sew! I love to be creative and make things with my hands!

6. I love to play in Photoshop!

7. I have lived with Fibromyalgia for 7 years, my family and close friends know this about me. But others usually don't, I try my best to not let it decide how I live my life.

8. I really like to go to hockey games (if you know me, you know I don't really find sports entertaining) but with hockey its different. I just love to watch them get into fights!!!

9. I have 5 kinds of pickles in my frig right now (hey, what can I say...I'm pregnant!)

10. Shane and I love to watch King of the Hill! 'Damn't Dale'!

Tag you're it...
I only have 3 people I can tag, because other than Missy, that is all I know that have blogs:
Britni (my very pregnant sister)
Tracy (my cousin, who happens to be pregnant too)
Aunt Cami and Morgan (I don't get to be a part of your everyday lives, so it would be fun to hear what you have to say)

Fun Times with Family...

We were blessed with having company the past few days!
My cousin, Tracy & her husband, Ethan, and their dog Nima, came Friday nite and stayed with us until Sunday. Ethan had something going on in Iowa City on Saturday, so Tracy & I hung out and relaxed and were able to do some catching up. Of course, I had to take Tracy to Farm & Fleet, where they have the cutest baby clothes (strange, I know!) since Tracy is pregnant also! She is a little over 3 weeks farther along than me!

Me & Tracy w/ our furkids!

Here is a tummy picture as promised for our mothers!

Lindsey & Jared also came to visit us! They arrived on Sunday and will be heading home in the morning. Its their spring break, so they headed this way so that Lindsey and I could work on her wedding flowers! We were actually able to find some great stuff, and I think the flowers are going to be beautiful! I will try and post pictures of them later!

Lindsey & Jared

I think having company has done me good. I have felt pretty good! No migraine the last few days! I still haven't been able to eat much though! I am now in my 15th week! Our next check-up with be on March 24th. Which is when we schedule our ultrasound to find out the sex of the baby!!! Well that is all the news for now!

TGIF...

It's hard to believe but the sun is actually shining for like the 5th day in a row! And I just checked the forecast, and its not even calling for snow until March 14th! I have actually been enjoying all the snow...its the constant complaining of all the people about the snow that has become annoying!14 Weeks

Today I am now 14 weeks along! Shane and I were reading up about this week last nite, and the baby is suppose to be 3.2" to 4.5" long...the size of a fist! I told Shane no wonder why I am starting to feel fat! I am happy to report that I did actually have 2 days this week that were pretty good..Monday & Thursday! As for the rest, migraines and puking can sum those up...and this morning didn't start off well either! I have P.T.O. in 45 minutes, so am hoping that will give me some relief! Shane didn't have a very good morning either...I saw him off to work, kissed him goodbye and waved to him out the window as he pulled away....a few minutes later he comes back thru the door...the Camry has a flat tire (I must not be very observant b/c I didn't even notice when he pulled away!) The tire had a huge chunk on sheet metal sticking in it (which is apparently my fault, since I drove it yesterday). He got the tire aired up with our extremely small air compressor (its a small one that runs our nail gun), so that took forever, and I had every intention to take switch cars and take the Camry to get fixed, so he could get to work...but that didn't happen, by the time he got the tire aired up, I was puking! I am beginning to become quite frustrated b/c I these past several weeks I have been NO help to my husband, who in turn has been an amazing help and comfort to me (Dear Lord, please rain Your blessings upon this deserving man!)
Anyway, I am glad it is Friday! I hope all of you have a great weekend!
