6 Month Check-up...

Shane and I took Emma to the doctor today for her 6 month check-up. Her new stats are:
17 lbs 5 oz
26 inches long
and the doctor couldn't stop raving about how cute she is and how beautiful her eyes are! Of course Shane and I concur with her! She is in the 50 percentile for both weight and height, and is meeting all of her developmental milestones. She also had to have 3 shots and a drink...so we are good now until she is 1 year old! Emma also just loved the paper on the exam table, she had it all ripped up by the time we left!

Happy Saturday...

Wow, the week went by fast! I can hardly believe its already March 21st! We had a good week at the Struckpeoples house! It was warm enough on Tuesday to get out and go for a walk (I know some of you Muscatine people are thinking it was warm enough on other days this week to walk...but its gotta be at least in the 60's to get me out!)
I had a pretty productive week considering I have a teething 6 month old and I didn't feel the best either. I got everything cut out for Missy's diaper bag, burp rags and minkee blanket! I have full confidence I can complete everything before baby Blackman arrives in May!

Each morning I bring Emma downstairs and lay her on the living room floor, and everyday she decides to explore something different...she decided to check out the kitchen again, she hasn't been in there for several days.

She looked like a cute little inch worm that was going nowhere, each time she tried to scoot forward she would just slip backwards!

We were at walmart, and I thought I better check to see if they put out their swimsuits yet, and they did and I actually found one that I thought was cute! I checked target the other weekend and didn't find anything I really liked...there really isn't much selection for baby swimsuits...especially if you despise having 'characters' on them!

Yes, Emma enjoys watching The Office as much as we do!

Last nite our small group from church got together! I couldn't resist putting Emma's hair in pigtales! (I just love that my baby has hair!)

So this morning Emma woke up with 'wild woman hair' from wearing pigtales the day before!

In this picture you can see a strand of hair that touches down past Emma's eye! It is getting long...and I am sure its 'past due' for a trim...but she is 'only' 6 months old, I can't cut her hair yet!

Long Time, No Post...

Wow, I haven't blogged in 13 days! I think that is a record for me (one I shouldn't be going for I don't think!)
Well, we have had a busy last 2 weeks, but it will take me a few minutes to think about all I have done, good thing I take pictures!

Last Saturday, Shane took us girls to the QC. I had many stops I needed to make, and its hard with a little one, so Shane nicely said he would help me! I use to do all the errands during the week, so our weekends were free to do whatever. Anyway, we stopped at JoAnn's Fabrics, the mall, Petco, Sam's Club and Target. Emma did very well. I nursed her while Shane ran into Petco just to get Bella's cookies (her fav that she has to have...she always gives me this dumbfounded look if I try giving her a treat that isn't a dog cookie) anyway, I told Shane to get quite a few since I dont know when I will make it back (I think my specific words were..."when you think you got plenty, get some more"). They sell them by the pound, and boy did I eat my words...he came out with 4.5 lbs!!! Bella went nuts over the bag alone! Based on what Shane came out with, I think I usually pick up 2 lbs.

This week we had a visitor!!!
My best friend, Heather, drove up from Indiana to see us for a few days. She arrived on Wednesday and had to leave Friday. We had a great time just catching up and relaxing. She joined me for my mom's Bible study, where she nicely took over taking care of Emma most of the time so I could actually fully participate! It was great!
I gotta say a big thanks to Heather's husband, Jon, who was nice enough to share her with us! They both are very busy with grad school and law school! We hope to get out and see you guys soon, I can't wait to see your new house (even tho you have lived there almost a year!)

This weekend we were suppose to make a trip to Omaha/Lincoln, but Emma and I weren't feeling well. We all were pretty bummed! Instead we relaxed most of the weekend. We did make it to church this morning and the grocery and picked up a movie to watch.
When we got home, Shane was making Emma giggle before we got her out of her carseat...it was soo cute, she was laughing so hard she was blowing bubbles, I tried to get a picture of it, but wasn't able to...but here are some of her laughing.
