My Goofy Dog

Next Project!
Here is our next project! The 2nd bedroom (aka future baby's room). As you can see we have a lot of work to do in this room! We just removed some beautiful paneling, to discover almost a hundred year old wallpaper (our house was built in 1910) on the walls and ceiling (yes, i said ceiling, ppl really put wallpaper on the ceiling) ((can you really call it wallpaper then, shouldn't we have to dub it ceilingpaper, which just then sounds funny, but maybe if they would have thought about it that way, they would have never even put wallpaper on the ceiling))
Anyway, we thought we would have to knock out the plaster and drywall, or skimcoat with mudd over all of it! But as i was praying for wisdom, God said to get wallpaper solution to remove the wallpaper, and to my amazement, it actually is coming off! and underneath, we found plaster, that has never been painted or anything! so now we will just patch the cracks and missing plaster and sand, then paint! Still alot of work, but i really wanted it to look like all the other rooms in the house, and so i am happy!

Happy Belated Birthday Shane (May 5th) & Bella (May 6th)
Shane turned 25th this past Saturday! Happy Birthday Honey! We celebrated with a card party with some great friends! And ate a delicious cake made by Ann! thanks! Thank you to all who thought of him on his birthday!
Miss Bella Bear turned 1 year old! Here is a picture with her new ball! We didn't think she would be able to get in her mouth and carry it around (since the ball is as big as her head) but within 5 minutes she had figured out how!

I always wondered how someone could manage to do that...
How is everyone's weekend? Shane and I were happy to finally have a quiet and normal weekend...the past 5 weekends we have been gone or had something going on! So I decided to finish up Zoe's quilt I told Britni I would make for her to match her new pink and brown bedroom! After I finished it, I decided to start on a new sewing project...
well, I had always wondered how someone could sew their finger when I have heard the horror stories of putting a needle thru your finger. It looks impossible, considering their is such a small gap between the needle and the feed foot, there is no way a finger could fit in there! well, I still do NOT see how someone can do it, but I do know now that it is possible!!! As I was sewing, somehow I managed to get my left hand ring finger under the needle as it was moving, I screamed bloody murder when it went in and tried to pull my hand away, but the needle was still in my finger, so all I could think of was to press down hard on the pedal, close my eyes and pull my finger out! and to make matters all the worse, I was doing a zig zag stitch, so the needle was going left to right! Thankfully, I was sewing in the second bedroom, where we have the hardwood floors exposed and plan to carpet because there was one large pool of blood!
I still don't know how I did it, especially the left hand ring finger, I don't even use that finger to guide the material! I was so glad shane was home at the time!
Quote for the day...the impossible is possible, don't lose a finger trying to find out!

Thanks Britnit for the shelf!!!
Here is a shelf from Britni's old house that I have always liked, and when I was back helping her move, the shelf didn't really fit somewhere in her new house...so I got to bring it home! It was the first thing that I have hung on my dining room walls (we've only been here over a year) and I love being able to display my fiestaware!
Doesn't the shelf look great in my house Brinti? Thanks for letting me use it!

Christmas Vacation 2006
We had a wonderful Christmas break! We were blessed enough to be able to go home for about 10 days! There was so much snow on the ground and everything was sooo beautiful! We had a wonderful visit with all our family and friends! And between the wonderful time with everyone, the awesome Christmas gifts we got, getting stuck in the snow at the turn off to Mom and Dad's at 2:30 in the morning after a 9 hour drive there, and getting stranded in Kearney in that bad ice storm on our way home, I am sure it will be a Christmas we will always remember! Here are some pictures of our time at home! Enjoy!
Here is where Bella sat the whole time while I was loading the car! Apparently she wanted to be sure we didn't leave her behind!

Nephew Luke opening his John Deere shirt from us! He loves John Deere, and actually already has this same shirt and I didn't know it, but when I told him he could exchange it for a different one, he looked at me like I was nuts...he thought it was awesome that he had two!

Aunt Missy and Zoe - yes, Zoe is really letting Missy hold her and she's not crying! (even though it only lasted 5 seconds, its still longer than what Zoe let me hold her!)

People that managed to escape the camera were my husband, Jared and Brad! huh?
