Lots of pics of Baby Emma!!!

Well, I finally got some time to post some pics of baby Emma!
We all are doing great and enjoying life with Emma! She is truly a blessing and has stolen our hearts! Enjoy the pictures! When I get more time I will blog our labor and delivery story!

A picture to prove that we actually did put Emma down...only for a few minutes though!
A baby can never really be held too much...I don't care what anyone says!Mom and I heard a funny 'squirting noise' while sitting in the living room and then Shane laughing...I got up to see what was going on, and below is what I found...While Shane was changing Emma's diaper, she decided she wasn't quite 'finished' yet!

Me lovin' on my Emma!

Emma's Visitors...

Emma has had visitors the last couple of days! We got pictures of some of them!

My friend Mora-Leigh was Emma's first visitor, she came to see us at the hospital! It was a little surreal for her to hold a fresh baby b/c in about 8 months she will be holding one of her own!
(Congrats on your pregnancy! She just found out last week!)
Our friends, Jeff and Kandice and their daughter, Kaelen also came to visit us at the hospital. Kandice is pregnant with twins and is actually now in the hospital with high blood pressure and will be staying there until their twins are ready to be delivered, so please keep them in your prayers!
My co-worker, Brenda also stopped by to see us, as well as, our neighbor Joy!

Ann Harrison stopped over to see Emma on Saturday.
Ann and her husband are our Bible study leaders, and card playing buddies...and now Ann gets to be Emma's adoptive gramma since Emma doesn't have one that lives close by! Ann said she gladly accepts the role!

My best friend, Heather and her husband, Jon made the drive from Indiana to meet Miss Emma! They arrived Friday evening and stayed until Saturday afternoon!Emma w/ her Auntie Heather
Heather and Jon also treated us all to Chinese takeout and also helped clean up the kitchen afterwards! We feel so blessed to have such wonderful friends!

Thanks Jon and Heather for making the 5 hour drive to meet Emma! We feel so blessed to have you guys in our lives! We love you and miss you already!

Emma's First Bath!

I gave Emma her first 'wash cloth' bath on Friday.

Needless to say she wasn't completely happy about it!
I gave her another bath today, and she did sooo much better! She didn't even cry, until we got to the lotion...then she just fussed a little!

Its so much fun to wash her hair...and the hospital sent home a cute little pink comb to comb her hair with! I just love Emma's hair...it was such a fun surprise to see her come out with all that hair!

Baby Update...

Today, Shane and I had our 40 week prenatal appointment, technically I am not 40 weeks until Friday.
My dad brought my mom out here this weekend, so she got to go with us.
I have been having a constant drip of clear fluid since yesterday, so my doctor double checked to make sure it wasn't amniotic fluid (which it was not), and did an ultrasound to check my fluid levels again. Which were still the same as my last ultrasound.
My doctor also checked me, she said I am now dilated 2-3cm and 70% effaced. So still making progress. She also stripped my membranes (so my mom and Shane got to be in the room for that very painful experience...I usually can keep pretty composed during pain, but it hurt so bad, I couldn't keep back 'oh sh**'!) I wasn't expecting her to do that, and she didn't tell me before she did!
Anyway, stripping the membranes is suppose to help jump start labor, and my doctor said that by doing it, I have a 25-30% chance of going into labor in the next 24-48 hours...so it won't necessarily work! So I am not gonna get my hopes up!

Mom and I have been busy cooking meals to put in the freezer. While dad was still here, we went and got a small chest freezer for the basement. Mom and I have made 2 batches of Chicken Noodle Soup, 4 Batches of Unstuffed Pepper Soup, and 1 batch of Chili...so that gave me 9 meals for Shane and I, and 12 individual servings to have for like lunches and stuff! Mom has been a big help! We also made 2 loaves of zucchini bread, and will probably do 4 more to freeze!

Well, thats about all for now! We had a relaxing weekend, and of course, Shane was happy the Huskers won!
