Wow..an update!

I am way behind on posting...and I don't see me getting caught up anytime soon!
Things have been crazy busy around here! I don't even know where to begin!

Emma is, as always, her funny, goofy self! We are constantly entertained by her and amazed at all the new things she does and says! Her favorite thing is to get into boxes, totes, baskets...anything that she can fit or almost fit her cute little butt in! (you will see pics below)

Shane is enjoying the college football season, of course...so our weekends are now worked around when the Huskers play! He also joined a Wednesday night bible study at church that runs for the next 8 weeks. We also started small group back up on Sundays.

As for me, wow, I have had a lot going on! My Tuesday morning bible study started back up (we use to meet on Thursdays) and we are doing a Beth Moore study on the book of Esther. Its a fairly in depth study with homework. Monday morning lapsit at the library also started back up, so Emma and I have been going to that. And I have plans to do something on Monday evenings...if I decide to continue, I will fill you in! (I couldn't make it this first time on Monday, but plan to go next Monday).

I have also been doing TONS of sewing! I got my last order out and moved on to one for a benefit that is this Friday. I also made a tutu to go with another basket I put together to be part of the silent auction. And I am also donating a custom diaper bag, so I made a few burp clothes and put together a basket of goodies to go along with the gift certificate. I also have 5 orders for diaper bags in the works. Some I can start working on, others will wait until ppl find out genders of their babies and make fabric selections. In addition to all that, I was asked to donate a custom diaper bag for another silent auction being held in November. I feel blessed that God is using my talents and hope that I can live up to His expectations and plans for me! (Pics of my latest projects will be coming soon)
Which brings me to the realization that I have so much sewing ahead of me (each diaper bag takes over 15-20 hours to cut, piece together, and sew) and could really use a new sewing machine that has a 10" arm, and several other features that would help immensely in sewing my diaper bags. My sewing machine has been giving me some fits, but it has been a huge blessing from when I first got it (for those of you that don't know, I won it in a drawing). Its a really nice machine, just doesn't have all the features that I need, but has definitely allotted me to do stuff that I couldn't with my first one (which was also a huge blessing, a gift from my parents way back in college). So I praying that if God sees fit, He will bless me again (because these sewing machines aren't cheap)!

My mom and I have been enjoying webcaming the last few days...she now has high speed internet, thanks to my brother who recently started his own wireless internet company called wireless inet, you can check him out here www.wirelessinet.net. My mom's web cam was pretty old and didn't have a microphone, so i ordered her a new one, and should be arriving in a day or two, and then we will be able to video chat!

I know there are more things I wanted to write, but I can't remember them now! So I will end here and head to bed! But first, here are some pictures of Emma...

Emma getting into the stuff that I had gathered to get rid of...and her fav, my underwear!

She is always running around now with my underwear around her neck...she is so silly!

See that big purple spot? Emma took a dive into the corner of the end table and had to have her cut glued shut! Poor kid, it bled all over the place and scared her mommy to death! It happened this past Saturday night, so of course the doctor's office is closed and it was past urgent care office hours, so we had to take her to the ER. I was a little concerned because she threw up afterwords, and the bleeding wouldn't completely stop after an hour, so we took her in. We are hoping she doesn't have a huge scar. She picked at the glue today and got some off, and of course took her eye brow hair with it...I hope it grows back fast! I told Shane she got her first eye brow waxing and it didn't go very well!

Well, heading to bed!

Emma's 1 Year Stats

Emma had her 1 year check-up today, which included 4 shots and her blood drawn. Poor girl, I felt so bad. Shane, thankfully, volunteered to hold her while they took the blood from her poor, little finger.
Doc said Emma looks great, happy and impressed with everything she is doing and saying!
Her new stats are:
19.5 lbs - just below 25%
27 inches - just below 25%
She said she is petite!
We go back for booster for the flu shot next month, then again in 3 months.

We are happy its Friday, Shane got super excited last night when he saw that he will get to watch the Huskers game tomorrow on ESPN 2!
Have a good weekend!

Fun Pics from the Weekend...

A brief post with some pictures from our weekend. We didn't do much. Shane finished up in the basement so we are done and can cross that off our list! Praise God! Now we just have to clean and move things back in place. I cleaned around the house and played with Emma. Today, we went to church and relaxed most of the day. This afternoon, while Emma napped, Shane and I sat down and talked about our financial goals and things of that nature. (I felt like he was running a meeting at work!) Next week we will revisit our budget and go over more stuff.

We have a busy week ahead. Tomorrow is baby lapsit at the library. Thursday is massage day (oh, its been too long!) and Friday, Emma has her 1 year check-up. And the rest of the week I will start on a new diaper bag and accessories that is a donation for a benefit in a few weeks.

This first set of pics Emma was telling a story and making the funniest faces and sounds, I snapped them all in less than a minute...

And that adorable Husker tanktop was a gift Emma got in the mail from her Aunt Janice this week...isn't it the cutest thing!

Do they look alike?

Emma being her sweet, sweet self!

Proof that my smiley, happy baby does get mad and sad sometimes!
If you look closely you can see her 2 new teeth that popped thru yesterday...one on each side of her front 2 teeth.

Love, love this pic!
Shane and I couldn't help but laugh!

I'm Ready for Another Long Weekend...

We had a good weekend...even though I am sure Shane feels like he didn't a 4 day weekend the way I made him work!
Shane took Friday off, and we spent our time (mostly him) in the basement finishing up waterproofing it and setting up storage shelves. I was able to get in anywhere from 2 to 4 hours each day during Emma's nap time to help him. We didn't quite get it all done, because we ran out and needed 2 more bags, which Emma and I ran and got Monday from Home Depot, while Shane started cleaning and setting up shelves.
Just because I wasn't in the basement the entire weekend, I did do my share of work cooking up a storm (and taking care of a 1 year old of course!). I froze 11 family meals, and 9 single meals. Here is what I cooked in the last few days between stuff to freeze and stuff to eat now, I don't think I ever cooked so much in my life in just a few days!
3 batches of Unstuffed Pepper Soup, 2 batches of Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup, 2 batches of Chili, Runzas, Carmel Roll, Macaroni Salad, Cupcakes, Roast w/ Picante and Peppers, BLT's, and grilled brats, hot dogs and a steak! (I'm sure I am forgetting something!) Our freezer is full now! The only thing I didn't get made and froze was breakfast burritos, but i will get to that this week.

My breastfeeding ticker is right...Emma and I made it to a year for breastfeeding!!! I really didn't think it was possible when I first started out!
So we are starting to wean now. The last few days I haven't been nursing Emma in the mornings (we had just been nursing twice a day for a while now). And I have started to give her milk, which she seems to be taking fine. So in a couple of weeks we will stop her night feedings as well, and turn another chapter of Emma going from baby to little girl!

Emma is learning new things every day. Lately, I have taught her that her dirty diaper is trash, so now after each changing she says 'trash' and insists on taking it to the trash can right away!
Most exciting new thing is Emma is walking! She is now taking several steps on her own and looks so darn cute doing it!

I finished another diaper bag order today, so I will be posting pics of that in a few days on my kt-designs blog, so check it out!
Well, that catches you up for now until I think of something I forgot! Below are some pictures from this weekend!

Emma has scooted this box all over the house to stand on!

'Sportin' a lil' crack'

Emma dressed and ready for game day! She was born thinking Huskers are #1!

Daddy thought she looked pretty cute!

I have these old headbands that Emma found in the bathroom, and now she plays with them daily, and always is wearing them on her head!

Storage shelves we put in the basement (which are no longer empty!)

More from Emma's Birthday...

Shane came home at 5pm from work, and we then let Emma open the last of her presents.

Here Emma is heading up the stairs to her room to get her presents.

She thinks she is such a big girl climbing the stairs (which is why I bought a baby gate this week!)

Emma checking out her birthday gift...a rocking chair!

Emma trying out her new rocking chair!

I held back one gift-wrapped present, which she unwrapped pretty well...new pjs!

We then headed to the pond/bike path for a walk and a little photo shoot, here are the results...
(the pictures look a little grainy from down sizing them for the blog for some reason, i am also still need to go thru and edit more of my favorites to print)

Below are a few of my favorites!
