Happy Father's Day!!!

Happy Father's Day to all you dads out there...especially to my hubby and my dad!
I was pretty excited to give Shane his gift (its nothing extravagant, so you probably won't be impressed), but nonetheless, I thought it was the perfect gift, and I think Shane would agree.
Keep reading if you want to find out what it is...

We woke early this morning (not by our own free will...but b/c Emma likes early mornings)
As you can see, she is much more chipper than we are in the mornings (that is her cheesy smile if you can't tell)

Shane reading his card from Emma and me

Shane opening his gift

Shane happy to see what it is...Emma trying to figure out what it is...

Shane holding his gift up
(and you, the readers...still trying to figure out what the heck it is)

Well, you see, Shane came bringing me his screwdriver bag weeks ago and asked me if sometime I could make him a new bag for it b/c it had ripped and no longer really held them.

So I hunted thru my fabric stash and came up with some heavy denim, and made him a handy bag to hold his screw drivers.

Shane putting his screwdrivers in his new bag!

They all fit! I even put a nice magnetic snap on it and reinforced the bottom so that over time the screwdrivers won't rip the bag!

And any of you that know my husband, know he only likes vertical stripes...so I made the bag so the stripes were vertical (I'm such a thoughtful wife!ha!).

And it fits perfectly in his tool bag.

Shane really likes his gift...and even said it was 'perfect' and thought the fabric was cool. And to top it off, it didn't cost a cent, so he definitely loved that! He also asked if I had more of that fabric and is thinking up more things I can make for him. I told him I have at least 3 yards of it (that could make a lot of stuff)!

*and yes, Shane thought it was weird that I was documenting all of it...but I thought it would make a fun post!

Emma on the Go...

Emma has been into EVERYTHING today! Adjusting to a mobile child has been interesting! Emma is doing new things all the time. Its taking me some getting use to seeing her laying on the floor and then turning away for just a second and then seeing her sitting up! She is so curious, and gets mad if you take something away from her she is not suppose to have. She has a goofy personality and loves people and other kids.
Here are some pictures of her today 'exploring' the house:

The pink bin she is getting into is the 'no, no' bin...that I put stuff in that she is not suppose to have, but that I need...guess it will have to find a new spot.

Crawling under the end table...I had to rescue Emma, she got stuck and couldn't get back out!

And here is where I found Emma when I turned around from putting away a comforter. I had left her in the bathroom, where I had taken the comforter out of the dryer and was heading back to put clothes from the washer into the dryer...this kid can crawl fast!

I guess we will be getting a baby gate for the stairs soon!

Emma crawling onto our other end table!

She played like that for quite a while!

My days just got a lot more crazy!

Pics from the rest of our weekend...

Friday night we had bible study at the Eberhard's, and then on Sunday after church I went into clean-mode to get the house ready for our visitors that arrived later that day.

Emma telling me something...

Emma and me after church on Sunday

"hey, dad...you are suppose to open your eyes while mom is taking a picture"

Emma and her Daddy!

Emma's personality shining thru!

Naptime...she just didn't want to let go of that teddy bear!
She has quite the grip even when she is sleeping

Emma is fascinated with Kleenexes and how if you pull one out, another pops up...she will continue to do this until there are no more left in the box!

And then she likes to kick and roll around in them!
Unfortunately, mommy can't put the Kleenexes back in the box the same way so that it will happen all over again!

The face I get after each mess she makes...gotta love it!

Our visitors...Tanner and Krista (Shane's younger brother and girlfriend) from Lincoln came to see us. They arrived Sunday afternoon and left this morning. Emma really enjoyed them and just loved having them here. She was all smiles (unless of course she was in need of a nap!).

We will see them again soon...when we head back to Nebraska at the end of the month for a week.

Emma's First Trip to the Zoo!

To celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary, we had decided to do something as a family and take Emma to the Niabi Zoo on Saturday. It was rainy outside, but had quit by the time we got there, and it remained cloudy and cool, just perfect for a day at the zoo!

Getting ready to leave for the zoo

My favorite was the koi pond...the fish were insane! They loved being fed, and the ducks and swans swam up close (one bit a little girl by us, who was feeding it).

The swan in this pic just got done putting its bill inside a fishes mouth and stole the food right out of it!

And there were little turtles swimming all over too!

Emma just 'monkeying' around w/ her dad
(no, Emma we did not derive from apes...despite what they might teach you in school)

What a silly goof!

Cute little goats!

Shane and an Emu

It was awesome...we could get right up close to the giraffe!

A compromising position?

Emma and her mommy!

My beautiful butterfly!

We browsed the gift shop...but didn't buy anything, figured we better take advantage of not having to buy anything while we can! It was our first time to this zoo, it was really nice...perfect size and you could get up close to so many of the animals...we will for sure be going back!
We ate lunch at a near by Happy Joe's/Rudy Tacos...it was good.
We also stopped at Target and picked up a case and screen protector for our ipod touch, then attempted to pick up the remaining flowers I needed for Codi's wedding at Hobby Lobby and stop at JoAnn's for some fabric I needed...I will be making a trip back to both of those places in the next few days b/c they were out of what I needed.
