Great River Days

Friday, July 29th, we took the girls to the Great River Days carnival here in Muscatine. This was our first time ever going since we have lived here and it was Emma's first carnival experience. She definitely loved all the lights and rides, and wants to go again!
The carnival was set up right along the Mississippi River and the weather was just perfect, so it made for a beautiful atmosphere!
We had driven by the carnival a few days before and Emma spotted the Ferris Wheel and had not stopped talking about going on it since. Shane and I weren't sure if she would actually ride it, but I suppose you will see if she did from the pictures below ;)

Excited to be at the carnival!

Emma tried out the bounce house first

Next up was the Merry-Go-Round

We then grabbed some philly cheesesteaks, hamburger, fries and a lemonade for supper and enjoyed it by the river.

After supper, Emma was ready to try out the Ferris Wheel...she didn't even hesitate!

Emma then tried out this ride, she really enjoyed it!

The only ride Bree got to experience was the bumpy one in her stroller.

Emma and I tried out the big slide

It was fun for both of us!
Though wearing my Miss Me jeans probably aren't the best jeans to wear to go on it with the crazy studs and hardware on the pockets, my butt could really fill them!

Emma also enjoyed a train ride, tho I think she thought it was rather boring compared to other rides.

We all shared a funnel cake by the river

Emma got to choose one last ride to go on before we left...she choose the Ferris Wheel!

Bree fell asleep by this time

Waving to me again!

On Saturday, we went back downtown to go to the craft show, farmer's market and then the parade. Emma scored lots of candy and we all had a good time. We then grabbed some yummy lunch and came home. We had great fun and enjoyed being together as a family!
Saturday afternoon we spent freezing over 9 dozen ears of corn. Sunday we went to church, volunteered in the nursery during small group hour, ate at Las Lomas (Emma's choice) and then everyone took a 2 hour nap!
What a blessed weekend!!!
